BACKGROUND

During the design phase of the refurbished Memorial at the National Memorial Arboretum, it was agreed that provision should be made for all personnel, living or deceased, who had served in or with the Auxiliary Air Force or its successor, the Royal Auxiliary Air Force, to have a Memorial Stone recognising their service laid around the base of the Memorial.. The Stone would give brief details of the individual’s Auxiliary Service

It was also agreed that, where a biography of the individual had also been provided, it would be listed on this web-site and could be accessed either directly on the web-site or through a QR code displayed by the front seat of the Memorial. The biography would be prepared by, and be the responsibility of, the individual applying for the Stone.
